The short version: we collect very little, use what we collect to make windr work, and never sell your data.

1. Who We Are

windr is operated by Sorensen on Sound LLC, based in Milford, Connecticut, USA. If you have any questions about this policy, reach us at [email protected].

2. What We Collect

windr is designed to be minimally invasive. Here is what we collect, and why:

We do not collect your name, email, or any account information. windr requires no sign-up.

3. Location Data

When you use windr, your browser may request your device's GPS coordinates. This is used solely to fetch your local forecast. Your coordinates are sent directly from your browser to the forecast service — they pass through our infrastructure only as a proxy request and are never logged or stored by Sorensen on Sound LLC.

You can always type a location manually instead of granting location permission.

4. Local Storage

windr stores your last-viewed location in your browser's localStorage so the app can restore it the next time you visit. This data never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for windrweather.com.

5. Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns (page views, countries, device types). Cloudflare's analytics are privacy-first: they do not use cookies, do not fingerprint browsers, and do not track individuals. No personally identifiable information is collected or retained. 6. Third-Party Services

windr makes API requests to the following third-party services in the course of normal operation:

  • US National Weather Service (api.weather.gov) — forecast data
  • Cloudflare Pages — hosting and CDN

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We do not share any user data with these services beyond what is technically necessary for the app to function.

7. Cookies

windr does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. Cloudflare may set a technical session cookie (__cf_bm) as part of its bot-management infrastructure. This cookie does not contain personal information and is deleted when your browser session ends.

8. Children's Privacy

windr is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at the address below and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your Rights

Because we collect no personal data linked to your identity, there is no profile for us to provide, correct, or delete. If you have concerns about any data associated with your use of windr, email us at [email protected] and we will respond within 10 business days.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we materially change how we handle data, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We recommend checking this page periodically. Continued use of windr after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
